Senior Important Dates
April 23: Senior Meeting regarding graduation – Period 3 in the Auditorium. WCC students will attend this meeting on Monday, April 22 at the WCC. WCC students will NOT attend the meeting on the 23rd at West.
May 1: Deadline to submit Senior Honors Program information. Must be sent via email to: [email protected] – must include scholarship name and total amount of award – note “Honors Assembly” in subject area.
May 3: Last day to pay fines and fees by check.
May 3: First Official graduation list posted. The first official graduation list will be posted outside the Counseling Services Office. To be on the list, students must be passing all classes needed to graduate, have met the 263 requirements in reading and math, have all fines and fees paid, have all detention served, have completed all online courses and have any necessary outside credits complete. If you have questions as to why you are not on the list, please see your counselor.
May 10: Updated Official graduation list posted.
May 10: Senior Honors Program – 12:30 PM in Auditorium.
May 17: Speech Outlines Due Seniors who wish to speak at Commencement need to give speech outlines to
Mrs. Lilja in Counseling Services. Valedictorian, Student Body President, 2 other students will give speeches.
May 17: Updated official graduation list posted.
May 17: Cap & Gown distribution. Caps & gowns will be handed out during all three lunch shifts in Counseling Services. Students must have their names on the Official Graduation List to receive a cap and gown.
May 21 and 22: Final exams (Schedule to be announced by individual teachers).
May 22: Updated official graduation list posted. These are the names that will be in the ceremony program
May 22: 3:00 PM – Last chance to have names included in Commencement program. The final list of names will be submitted for printing. Students must be on the Official Graduation List at this time to have their names in the commencement program.
May 23: Last day of school for seniors. Crossing the stage run-through in Auditorium. Required!
Period 3: Alagic through Kudic (A-K)
Period 4: Lakic through Zika (L-Z)
May 24 (noon): Last day for names to be submitted to the Courier for publication. Students’ names MUST be on the Official Graduation List by this date in order to have their names printed in the Courier’s Graduation Edition.
May 28: Mandatory commencement practice at the McLeod Center-9:00 AM (8:50 Arrival) Students must attend entire practice in order to participate in Commencement. Emergencies or unusual circumstances that prevent a senior from attending practice need to be cleared with Mr. Miehe. Being scheduled for work is not an acceptable reason for missing rehearsal.
May 28: 5:15 PM –All graduates should be at the McLeod Center (lined up in UNI Dome).
5:45 PM -Final attendance taken– Graduates not in line at this time will not be
in the ceremony.
6:00 PM – Commencement Processional begins
