Role of the Board
The Board of Education is established by the Constitution of the State of Iowa and the statutes enacted by the Iowa General Assembly. The Board sets policy and provides general direction for the school district in accordance with the laws of Iowa, policies and regulations of the District and the expressed will of the community. The Board of Education has seven members who are each elected for a term of four years (or complete an unexpired term of a regularly elected member). Four members shall be elected from director districts and three shall be elected at large.
Board Meeting Dates & Times
We welcome the public to attend our Board meetings! Generally, these take place on the second and fourth Mondays of every month at 5:00 PM. During the summer (June and July), we shift to a reduced schedule of one meeting per month. All meetings are held in the Board Room at the Education Service Center, 1516 Washington Street, Waterloo.

Anyone who wishes to address the Board with public comments is asked to register with the Board Secretary Pam Arndorfer by calling 319-433-1874 or through email by 4 p.m. on the board meeting date.
