New Teacher Award

Each month, Waterloo Schools recognizes Year One and Year Two teachers who are new to the teaching profession. Teachers are nominated by their building administration and/or instructional coaches.

Alicia Crivaro-3rd Grade Classroom Teacher
“Alicia has the biggest heart for her students! Her ability to build relationships with all students is unmatched. She loves each of her students and they know it. She is able to motivate students to try their best. Alicia also supports her coworkers by serving on the building SEL team and facilitating learning and discussion. Alicia is more than deserving of the new teacher award and we are so glad she is at Highland!”

“Mrs. Stein has been a great addition to the instructional strategist team at Highland! Mrs. Stein has made genuine connections with her students and their families. Through her role at Highland, she does an amazing job of designing tailored instruction to meet the individual needs of all students. She is a reflective practitioner, who takes the time to think about how she can continue to learn in order to promote high levels of learning for every student in her care. When faced with a challenge, she is not afraid to jump right in and attempt new strategies or ask questions. Mrs. Stein’s heart shines for her students each day as she continually strives to advocate, support, and care for all students.”
