DISTRICT REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR THE 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR:

Preschool registration for Waterloo students opens virtually on March 2, 2026. Enrollment applications
will be taken virtually at www.waterlooschools.org.
Children must be four (4) years old, on or before September 15, 2026, to enroll in the Waterloo Schools Pre-K programs.
Space is limited. Parents will be notified by email if their child receives a spot or is placed on a waitlist.
If you want to attend a partner site (Cedar Valley Catholic Schools ECC, Immanuel Lutheran, Small World, or A to Z), you must contact them directly for registration.

Kindergarten Registration for 2026-27:

Registration will open March 26, 2026, at 9 a.m. There are no early registration options.
Children must be five (5) years old on or before September 15, 2026, to enroll in Kindergarten.
Enrollment applications will be taken virtually at www.waterlooschools.org.

2025-26 School Year Registration Information

2025-26 Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten

2025-26 Returning Students

Students who ended the 2024-25 school year in a Waterloo School, those who have been approved for Preschool, and those who have already completed Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 school year, will need to complete an Annual Update.

Annual updates for current Waterloo Schools Students will start July 10 and run through July 25, 2025.

Once you are logged in, click “More” under the Message Center, then “Online Registration”.

All returning students must register and provide current proof of address. Acceptable forms for proof of address: current utility, water or cable bill; lease agreement or new home purchase agreement, paystub or DHS approval letter.

It is important that you complete this as soon as possible. Completing Annual Updates help us with busing, change of address, emergency contacts, required annual forms, new health information, etc.

2025-26 New Students to the District

If your child/ren did not finish the 2024-25 school year in any of our Waterloo Schools or if you need to register a New Kindergarten student (Children who are five years old on or before September 15 are eligible for Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year). Registration needs to be done by the legal parent/guardian.

K-12 New Student Registration

Prior to starting school or when transferring into the school district, students must present an approved immunization record or certificate signed by a health care provider, stating that the student has received the immunizations required by law. Students are not allowed to begin school without the proper immunizations as required by Iowa Law. Only for specific medical or religious purposes are students exempt from the immunization requirements. A physician must sign medical exemptions. Religious exemptions need notarization.
